What You’ll Need
- An older Intel Mac
- A 16GB (or larger) USB drive
- Another Mac to download the installer
- Internet access for updates and tools
- A bit of patience—we’ll guide you through!
How We Did It
- Check Compatibility: Confirm your exact model (e.g., MacBookAir5,2).
- Download OpenCore Legacy Patcher: Get the latest release from GitHub.
- Create a macOS Installer: Use OpenCore to put macOS Sonoma on a USB stick.
- Patch the USB Drive: Enable boot support for your older Mac.
- Boot and Install: Hold Option, select the patched installer, and install.
- Post-Install Fixes: Use OpenCore again for Wi‑Fi drivers and other tweaks.
